Perhaps a (temporary) solution would be to go back to an earlier version of Lightroom. As mine are version 15, they are probably also not supported. I read somewhere that Lightroom doesn't support AMD cards with version 17.4.4 drivers. I think this problem started last October when a new Lightroom upgrade was automatically installed. So when I go to "Edit>Preferences>Performance" it already shows the "Use Graphics Card" box unchecked, with a message: "Graphics processor acceleration is disabled." Thus, I can't deal with the crash problem within Lightroom, and must disable the card manually every time I want to use Lightroom. Lightroom (Release 7.4) will not open unless I have already disabled the Radeon card. I have an HP Pavilion dv7 laptop with an AMD Radeon HD 6700 card with version 15 drivers (AMD hasn't offered an upgrade since 2015). If anyone else is having this problem or can suggest a solution the help would be very much appreciated. I am a professional photographer and all my eggs are in this basket! However, this has stopped my work in its tracks. I have never had a problem with Lightroom in 7 years of using it.
